Andrew Page supports MOT Testers with Auto Education courses
In a move that further strengthens its partnership with the IMI and supports technicians, Andrew Page has introduced a range of annual training and assessment solutions for MOT testers and quality controllers.
Through its Auto Education programme, Andrew Page has introduced seven courses to meet new Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) requirements, with courses suitable for existing and new MOT testers. Andrew Page's offering ranges from online courses, training plans and annual CPD for existing testers; to one, two and three day courses for new MOT testers and MOT managers.
One of the first motor factors to have achieved the status of an IMI approved centre, Andrew Page is well-placed to support MOT testers as the updates to training and qualifications come into effect. Within the first week of the programme being launched, over 200 MOT testers signed up to the Auto Education online courses, outlining the demand for the training under the new DVSA procedures.
The recent changes to the way the DVSA manages the UK MOT scheme mean that all new MOT testers are now required to hold an IMI level 3 qualification before gaining their qualification. From September this year, new Quality Controllers - now to be known as MOT Managers - will have to sit and pass a new MOT Manager course.
The changes also affect those to have already gained their qualification, as existing testers are now required to undertake annual training and an assessment to maintain their tester status. All training and assessments must be carried out by an IMI-approved centre, such as Andrew Page.
"Our programme of training courses can assist both existing MOT testers and future candidates and further extends our relationship with the IMI," said Paul Hall, Andrew Page Training Manager. "These new courses follow our IMI-accredited one-day and 'Road to Success' diagnostic technician programmes, which have proven to be very popular among aspiring and experienced technicians."
As it prepares for its 100-year anniversary in 2017, Andrew Page has invested heavily in its Auto Education and AP-Tech divisions, further underlining its commitment to providing garages and vehicle technicians with support across their businesses. The latest updates strengthen Andrew Page's position as a one stop shop for garages requiring new equipment, staff development and regular equipment servicing.
"We have always prided ourselves on building long-term relationships with the garages we work with," said Simon Mullin, Andrew Page Sales & Marketing Director. "We offer much more than just the supply of parts and equipment, something that is shown by these recent investments in our AP-Tech and Auto Education divisions."
Andrew Page's AP-Tech and Auto Education divisions have national coverage and are managed in-house to ensure quality levels and consistency remain high. As with the diagnostic program, Andrew Page's MOT tester courses are available across the UK to all technicians.
