AutoInsider Live! interactive trade show a great success in Harrogate
Following a successful launch last week in Harrogate, Andrew Page's interactive trade show AutoInsider Live! is set to visit the rest of the UK with a series of events due to take place across the country.

Bridging the gap between suppliers and garage technicians, the one-day event outlined Andrew Page's unique approach to the industry and featured live product and service demonstrations, interactive displays, supplier exhibitions and technical seminars. The interactive trade show was attended by just over 450 visitors and 43 exhibiting suppliers. Exhibitors varied from suppliers of parts and tools to those offering training, equipment and human resource consultancy. Well-known names on the day included Bosch, Mintex, Quinton Hazell, NGK, and the IMI.

Technical seminars were provided throughout the day by LUK, the IMI, Blue Print and Bosch, giving attendees additional insight and advice on common issues within the Automotive Aftermarket. Further tips and demonstrations were also available from the popular AP-Tech garage demo area.

As the first in a series of interactive trade shows, with a number of future events across the UK to be announced, the choice of city for the first AutoInsider Live! event was significant as the Harrogate Andrew Page branch was one of the first to open, in 1963. The network of Andrew Page and Camberley Auto Factors distributors now consists of over 90 branches nationwide.

In addition to supporting customers, AutoInsider Live! was also established to support suppliers, helping them interact with the aftermarket with the support of Andrew Page. "For us, attending was about getting the brand out there to raise awareness and meet the customers directly. We are very happy that we were able to do that, and the fact that we managed to do a substantial amount of business on the day was a fantastic bonus," said Tony Gilson, area sales manager for Bradbury Equipment.

One of Andrew Page's long-standing partners, Mintex, was also pleased with the event, with strategic customer development manager, Roy Toal adding: "We were really pleased with the quality of the attendees, who were knowledgeable and engaged with the show. There was a great buzz around the event, and we were able to arrange visits to local colleges to give the students best practice demos on the back of the right people attending."

AutoInsider Live! also saw the winner of the first ever "Foto my Motor" competition announced. Ian Herdman from Lincolnshire and his carefully restored Porsche 944 fought off strong competition to take the top prize. The social media competition to find the best restored or customised project car by a technician or apprentice received a huge number of entries. All five finalists were on display at the show, ready for the judges to inspect.

The Porsche has been given a thorough and contemporary restoration, with the judges praising the attention to detail and a consistently high finish throughout. Ian took home a prize haul including motorsport tickets, an Andrew Page gift package, tools and clothing.

In addition to the Foto my Motor competition, there was also a prize draw that all attendees were entered into upon arrival. Among the host of top-line prizes were; tickets to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, a full hospitality ticket for MUFC for the 2014/15 season, £3000 worth of Bosch technical training and £1000 towards a garage facelift.

"AutoInsider Live! is all about bringing our suppliers and customers together, and helps to demonstrate the broad range of products and services available from the Andrew Page and Camberley Auto Factors network," said Simon Mullin, Sales and Marketing Director at Andrew Page. "We like to meet our customers directly and maintain personal relationships, something that has always been part of the Andrew Page ethos."

The next AutoInsider Live! event has been confirmed for 16th October 2014, with many of the suppliers from the Harrogate show confirming immediately that they would be exhibiting again. The October show will be in Farnborough and promises to provide a broader insight into the inner workings of The Andrew Page Group and the Automotive Aftermarket.

Further details of upcoming AutoInsider Live! events will be announced in due course.
